Hospital stays can be upsetting, frightening and boring for children. For many years, we have funded “Magic Medic” Louby-Lou in hospitals to entertain young patients with her immersive, colourful clown show, featuring magic tricks and sing-alongs to popular songs. These visits help distract children from treatment, lift their spirits, and reduce stress and anxiety, which can support recovery.

We are now seeking funding to continue Louby Lou’s visits to Whiston and Ormskirk hospitals from July 2026, alternating monthly between the two sites. Since February 2025, funding has supported visits at Ormskirk Hospital, and we have seen the extraordinary positive impact Louby Lou has had on patients, families and staff.

Her visits have brought joy to children and their families during what is often a highly stressful and emotional time, generating consistently positive feedback Given this overwhelmingly positive impact, we are looking for support to continue these visits.

However, breastfeeding rates in the UK are among […]

“This new incubator has the addition of scales to weigh the baby with the minimum of disruption. It also has integral oxygen, which minimises kit and clutter around the incubator space. We will be able to control the temperature, humidity and oxygen to suit the baby’s individual requirements.”
