We are working with the Radiology Department at Stepping Hill to provide toys and games to reduce stress and anxiety in children waiting for treatment.

Hospitals can be frightening places for children. When a child is anxious or distressed, it is harder for medical staff to treat them and it can affect the child’s health and ability to recover.

The waiting area for the Radiology Department at Stepping Hill Hospital has been extended to accommodate a recent increase in patients but there are no funds available to make it more than functional.

MedEquip4kids have agreed to provide toys, games and furniture for the waiting room to create a dedicated child-friendly area. This welcoming environment will help young patients to relax before the treatment starts.

The equipment will benefit the 12,200 children treated each year, giving them a better experience of hospital and also any children accompanying other patients.

The cost of providing this equipment is £1,596.93.
