We had the pleasure of visiting Stepping Hill’s Treehouse Unit with the brilliant Emma Black, who bought songs and smiles to children on the ward through her musical therapy.

Visiting hospital can be a scary and confusing experience for children, so a little sing-along can provide a welcome distraction from nervous thoughts and long waits!

11-year-old Tyrell, who visits the hospital regularly, said he’d felt worried before coming, but that the music had helped him feel calm and relaxed. Mum added that the music provides a great distraction as well as easing that hospital anxiety.

Thank you to our supporters and donors for helping us make this possible.

“During winter months our admissions of children with respiratory conditions increase, so these saturation monitors are vital to us being able to safely monitor children. They will allow us to monitor more children both continuously through their stay with us and at intermittent times during their visit. Staff will find the additional units make their jobs easier.”
