The Countess of Chester Hospital Milk Bank have asked for our help to fund their L.E.G.A.C.Y (Lactation Equipment for Giving Milk and Commemorating Young Lives) project. They have requested 5 Spectra S1 hospital grade Breast Pumps for use by bereaved mothers who chose to express and donate their milk in memory of their baby through the Memory Milk Gift Initiative. This initiative supports families navigating baby loss while enabling them to make a powerful contribution to neonatal care by donating breastmilk to nourish and save other babies.
These comfortable and effective hospital grade breast pumps will be loaned out to bereaved mothers when required as part of an established compassionate pathway offering a therapeutic outlet and an opportunity to honour their babies memory through donation. The donations will benefit premature and unwell babies who rely on human milk for improved outcomes and support the emotional and psychological wellbeing of the grieving mothers. Funding these breast pumps will not only remove practical barriers for donor mums but also extend the reach and impact of the Memory Milk Gift ensuring no act of generosity is limited by lack of equipment.
