Nothing beats a visit from Louby Lou to brighten up a hospital stay 💙

When 5-year-old Arlo was admitted to Stepping Hill Children’s Unit, he was feeling restless, uncomfortable and not quite himself. Even his iPad wasn’t providing the distraction he needed.

Then Louby Lou arrived, bringing magic tricks, balloon modelling and plenty of laughter to children across the ward.

“The clown was funny – I liked how she made me a balloon!” said Arlo, proudly showing off his creation.

His mum told us that he quickly seemed more like his usual self and couldn’t stop talking about the magic tricks afterwards.

Louby Lou also visited children at Macclesfield Hospital Children’s Ward, bringing smiles, wonder and much-needed distraction to Jacob, Tobias and many others.

Thanks to your support, children spending time in hospital this summer can enjoy moments of fun, laughter and magic when they need them most ✨

“The new outdoor area will boost mood and morale, creating social opportunities in a safe space free from medical interventions and providing distraction from pain and illness. It offers play opportunities for siblings too, helping to normalise the hospital environment and bridge the gap between home and hospital.”
