And….. he’s off! Jerome Carson, age 67 and a professor at the University of Bolton, starts his 185-mile journey from the MedEquip4Kids offices in Manchester to Walsingham in Norfolk. The walk is raising an amazing £22,000 for our Hummingbird Project to support children’s mental health and you can still donate here or using the QR code below.

Today Jerome is walking to Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire. He will be accompanied on the first part of the journey by Ian and Lucy Platt. Ian is the Project Lead for the Hummingbird Project.

“The materials provided greatly help with the therapeutic process and engaging children, young people and their families in therapeutic work. The young people greatly appreciate having this equipment to use within their sessions. Many of the young people we see have a history of trauma including neglect and being able to access materials that they can use and enjoy is of great benefit and hopefully assists us to reinforce the messages of their worth as their self-concept is often very low.”
