On Monday this week we were delighted to be invited for lunch and a photo opportunity at the Trafford Centre in Manchester to mark the official end of our charity partnership. We have been so grateful for all the Trafford Centre’s support over the past few years and hope to continue working with them on various events in future.

In 2020 we were thrilled when the Trafford Centre selected MedEquip4Kids as one of their three charity partners for the year. We were really excited to get started on our fundraising activities at the centre, but these unfortunately had to be put on hold during the Covid-19 pandemic. So we were incredibly grateful when the Trafford Centre extended our partnership throughout 2022, and then for a further six months in 2023.

Firstly, we would like to thank the volunteers from Sage and Clarke Willmott LLP and all the individuals who came along to help us count and sort the coins collected from the Trafford Centre’s foundations every two months.

In August 2022 we joined children’s entertainer and clown, Louby Lou, for a fun summer party at the Trafford Centre near the famous Orient Stage. Louby Lou put on two performances of singing, magic tricks, and slapstick comedy, which delighted her young audience and helped raise funds for kids in hospital.

We are delighted to report that the partnership has generated an amazing £32,561 for the charity in total, enabling us to fund extra medical equipment and resources to benefit children’s health in the North West, as well as being a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of our work and to offer volunteering opportunities to our supporters.

Finally, we would like to say a special thank you to the fabulous team of staff at the Trafford Centre, and especially Richa Patel, who has really helped us make the most of our partnership by providing advice, encouragement and support.

“The switch adapted toys have been a wonderful addition to our school. Both staff and children were thrilled to have some new exciting resources. The children love the lights and movement many of these switch toys have and are highly motivated to explore and investigate how to make them work. They have been great for pupils to develop their understanding of cause and effect and we have also noticed improved concentration and engagement when using them. Often it can be difficult to find toys that are robust enough to withstand lots of heavy use AND be interesting and fun. These new resources tick all those boxes. They have made a noticeable impact on the children’s development in this area.”
