Today we want to say a little thank you to Co-op.

MedEquip4Kids has been supported since 2017 through Co-op’s Local Community Fund. The fund supports local causes across the UK that their members really care about.

For every £1 spent by Co-op members in store they receive 2p worth of points into their membership account which Co-op matches to donate to local causes.

Since 2017, Co-op have helped to fund projects ranging from blood pressure monitors and blood oxygen monitors in Bolton, to mobile telemetry units in Warrington to allow for constant monitoring of poorly children.

Currently we are receiving very generous support from the Manchester Co-op branches for our work support Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) providers across the city.

Karen Driver, the Co-op Member Pioneer for Manchester had this to say about our partnership: “The Coop has the community at the heart of everything we do and being able to support local causes like MedEquip4Kids is another way for us to support and feel proud to be a not for profit company who thrives on doing the right thing giving back to communities and Co-operating for a fair world.”

Co-op’s generosity does not stop with the Local Community Fund

Building on their support for our charity, Co-op even took part in our 7th annual Duck Race! Their duck, Jacko The Duck took to the water dressed in a Coldstream Guard uniform and battled the other ducks to try and win in the categories of ‘best dressed’ and ‘fastest duck’. My sponsoring a duck and being part of our annual duck race, the Co-op once again showcased its incredible support of our charity.

“The new outdoor area will boost mood and morale, creating social opportunities in a safe space free from medical interventions and providing distraction from pain and illness. It offers play opportunities for siblings too, helping to normalise the hospital environment and bridge the gap between home and hospital.”
