MedEquip4Kids has funded another AccuVein AV400 device, this time for the children’s clinic at Royal Preston Hospital.

Blood tests and cannulation are common procedures for babies and children in hospital, but children’s veins are not always easy to locate.  The AccuVein AV400 device illuminates veins below the skin, making them easier to find and reducing stress and pain for the patient.

Pictured above are Nicola Entwistle (left) and Rudo Kupera (right) with the new equipment.

The  AccuVein devices we have supplied to hospitals so far are proving extremely popular and we will continue to provide them for children’s units over the coming year.

“The materials provided greatly help with the therapeutic process and engaging children, young people and their families in therapeutic work. The young people greatly appreciate having this equipment to use within their sessions. Many of the young people we see have a history of trauma including neglect and being able to access materials that they can use and enjoy is of great benefit and hopefully assists us to reinforce the messages of their worth as their self-concept is often very low.”
