MedEquip4Kids organised the delivery of an excellent Gardening Planter to Green Fold Special School in Bolton thanks to United Utilities. The planter, created by Leon Davis Design, will give the pupils at Green Fold the opportunity to learn about water management and gardening!

Leon Davis Design took meticulous measurements of the children’s varying wheelchairs to ensure that every child in the school has access to it! Leon chose a great range of plants so that each of the 5 senses can be experienced; the plants include feathergrass, sage, strawberries, and mint.

The ribbon was cut at Green Fold’s Tea Party celebration for the 80th anniversary of VE day, where the school had garden celebrations, games, singing, but, also, The Great Green Fold Scone-Off! This competition was judged and ultimately won by Willow class with their excellently decorated (and tasty!) scones.

United Utilities began with creating a Sensory Story with Mrs. Whittleston as part of a class assembly to teach the children of Willow class about rainwater management to help the environment. After that, the planter was measured, built, installed, and will now help each child in the school learn more about gardening and enjoy its sensory benefits!

This is the result of a 6-month partnership with United Utilities, Green Fold Special School, and Leon Davis Design. We couldn’t be happier with how engaged and energetic United Utilities have been with making sure Green Fold is supported in the best way possible!

“The contribution of two Acheeva work stations has enhanced what we can offer to many children and students. Two young men are now able to access the larger workstations and their care and quality of life has improved dramatically. Michael now has the extra-large learning station available every day. Please thank everyone on our behalf who raised the money.”
