A hot September sun blazed overhead as 16 golf teams arrived for a shotgun start at Bramall Park Golf Club last Friday to enjoy a great day out on the green and raise funds to provide essential medical equipment and facilities to benefit children’s health.

In the evening the teams were treated to dinner at the club, followed by the prize-giving and a raffle. Congratulations to our tournament winners from Hall & Pickles (pictured above), and to Jane Greenwood (pictured below right), who won the award for for Best Lady Golfer.

We’d like to thank all the companies who took part, and those who sponsored holes, namely Legal Protection Group, Core Talent, Stafford Rainwater Systems Ltd and Intersol Global. Thank you also to Sue Hart from Slack and Andrews, Stuart Cosgrove from Angela Beer, Paul Ellis from C&C Healthcare, and Ellie Sloane from Prestbury Flowers for donating prizes.

We are very grateful to Bramall Park Golf Club for hosting a fantastic event for us once again. Finally a special thank you goes to Alan Tattler of Specialist Risk Group (pictured above with Jane) who organised the day on our behalf.

“Infections of the central nervous system need urgent and appropriate treatment. Most laboratory methods can take from 24 to 48 hours for diagnosis of bacterial meningitis and three to seven days for diagnosis of viral meningitis or encephalitis. The new equipment will mean we can get results of these tests in around an hour. We’ll be able to inform the clinicians of a positive result, allowing targeted therapy and reassurance to the patients and families. Just as important is the reporting of negative results, which may enable treatment withdrawal and possibly a shorter hospital stay.”
