A huge thank you to High Legh Park Golf Club in Cheshire for hosting a Captains Charity Golf Day last week as part of their Charity of the Year support for MedEquip4Kids.

21 teams took part in the golf event. Afterwards they were joined by their families, friends and social members of the club to enjoy an evening of great food and fundraising.

Two auctions, a raffle and an envelope donation draw raised over £9,000 for MedEquip4Kids. The final total includes fees from challenge competitions during the golf day and a bake sale at the halfway house still to be confirmed. Thanks to all the local companies and club members who donated such fantastic prizes.

Two staff from Barclays also assisted on the night. Barclays have kindly agreed to match-fund contributions from their staff, which means another £1,000 goes towards funding vital hospital equipment to benefit local children.

“This donation has enabled us to use more varied and useful therapeutic toys and games when working with children and young people with mental health difficulties, as well as using extra clinic rooms which are now more child-friendly. This has helped reduced anxiety about coming to CAMHS and meant that family therapy can be done. Both parents of a 10 year old boy can now attend with their 5 year old as the youngest child can play with our new resources in the waiting room or clinic space. The 10 year old benefited from therapeutic games about thoughts/feelings and we were also able to observe imaginative play for assessment.”
