The Bank Holiday weekend got off to a fantastic start for thirty of our supporters on Saturday.

They helped raise over £3,000 for MedEquip4Kids when they were among 5,000 participants who went Gung-Ho! in Heaton Park and conquered a unique inflatable 5K fun run, with ten of the greatest inflatable obstacles ever designed.

Rain, hail and wind didn’t dampen everyone’s enthusiasm and determination to have as much fun as possible and complete the course to claim their very own Gung-Ho! t-shirt and headband. The finale, Europe’s biggest ever inflatable slide – the ‘Thriller’, never failed to make everyone scream with laughter on the way down.
Taking part and completing the course was just the start of the event day.  Music, delicious food and drink, and plenty of opportunities to take action shots, all provided a fun filled festival atmosphere throughout the day for spectators and competitors alike.

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported their friends and families in Manchester’s first ever Gung-Ho!

Roll on next year!

“Infections of the central nervous system need urgent and appropriate treatment. Most laboratory methods can take from 24 to 48 hours for diagnosis of bacterial meningitis and three to seven days for diagnosis of viral meningitis or encephalitis. The new equipment will mean we can get results of these tests in around an hour. We’ll be able to inform the clinicians of a positive result, allowing targeted therapy and reassurance to the patients and families. Just as important is the reporting of negative results, which may enable treatment withdrawal and possibly a shorter hospital stay.”
