Paediatric Mobility equipment
Warrington Disability Living is an independent charity providing advice, equipment and training to adults and young people from across the Warrington area. They support anyone with a disability, including physical, learning and mental health problems. They offer a trial and loan service for wheelchairs, walking frames and other mobility aids which allows users to borrow equipment to help them to decide what they need to buy, or to have use of it while they wait for items to be ordered and constructed.
We have been asked to help their Young Ambassador to improve the services to children and young people by increasing the stock of mobility aids that are available for loan or trial.
We have agreed to fundraise for specialist crutches, a wheelchair, a trike and an adjustable table. All of these items will be available for short-term loan and will help young people and their families to identify appropriate equipment for home use, and improve the quality of life for young people with a range of disabilities.
There are 4,680 young people in the Warrington area who could benefit from this project.
