North Manchester General Hospital - Diagnostics Toolkits (10-040)
Diagnostic Toolkits
In the UK, around 900 children under the age of 15 are living with HIV. One of the most serious results of these infections is progressive brain damage.
With the right treatment and care it is possible for children with HIV to lead healthy lives and reach adulthood. However, the majority of children will experience slowed growth, problems with movement, cerebral palsy or delayed mental development.
Early diagnosis and assessment can make a huge difference to the long-term development of the child, allowing intervention and individual care.
We have been asked to priovide diagnostic toolkits for North Manchester General Hospital's HIV Clinic. The clinic needs specialised toolkits for monitoring and assessing child development.
The kits include scales and equipment for assessing key areas of development such as cognition, language, social-emotional, motor and adaptive behaviour, as well as technical and administration manuals and questionnaires for parents.
