Wythenshawe Hospital - Signature Infusion Pump x2

Following changes in the services in South Manchester, the Children’s Ward at Wythenshawe Hospital now operates a Paediatric Accident and Emergency facility within the main Casualty department. As a result existing equipment has been split between the two sites meaning staff often have to rely on adult equipment to meet the needs.

This pump is designed for administering fluid to very seriously traumatised children and babies. It is used in the most severe cases, often where life is threatened. The Paediatric Accident and Emergency Department will handle up to 4 very sick High Dependency children in one day.

The provision of two of these pumps would ensure that equipment is always on hand immediately when it is required by staff in an emergency situation. This would greatly increase the levels of care available in the most critical of cases.

Each unit will cost £4,085. Two of these devices are needed, with a total cost of £8,170.
