Royal Preston Hospital - Profiling Bed

UPDATE: This equipment was delivered in 2007.

The Royal Preston Hospital is a busy regional facility, accepting patients from across Lancashire. The hospital has two Paediatric Neurologists, and as a result a large number of disabled childrenare seen at the hospital as inpatients for stabilisation of epilepsy and other neurological conditions. Patients travel to Preston from across Lancashire and the North West.

The Paediatricians have asked us to help to provide equipment to improve the comfort of disabled children during their stay at Preston.

The Profiling Bed is specially designed for younger patients, with extendable length depending on the size of the child, and optional cot sides for babies and toddlers. It is designed in child-friendly colours and is easy to use.

This new bed will have the advantage that the child is more comfortable, more easily positioned and able to be moved more safely. It is particularly beneficial to children with multiple disabilities, or following orthopaedic surgery.

The new bed will cost £2,995.
