North Manchester General Hospital - Breastfeeding Room.

UPDATE: The breastfeeding room opened in 2010.

North Manchester General Hospital has undergone massive redevelopment over the last year and, in June 2010, will open a new Women’s and Children’s Unit incorporating a new Maternity Unit. MedEquip4Kids has been involved in the scheme from the beginning, ensuring that the new development will provide the best service possible to local children.

We want to provide a dedicated breastfeeding room for mothers who are on the wards, or by mums visiting the hospital. The room will be a relaxing environment, with comfortable seating and a home-like environment. It will be of particular benefit to mothers who are just getting established at breastfeeding and may want to feed discreetly with advice from a midwife or breastfeeding peer support volunteer.
