Countess of Chester Hospital - Pulse Oximeter

We have been approached by the neo natal unit at the Countess of Chester for help in providing improved equipment for use on sick and premature babies.

The unit have asked us to provide a Pulse Oximeter, which will enable medical staff to accurately assess the pulse rate and oxygen saturation of a patient. Compared to the equipment currently in use, this model can provide a much more reliable reading when a patient is in distress, so is therefore ideal for use on babies.

It is very difficult to keep a tiny baby still when trying to monitor their condition. It can be very difficult to get accurate readings, and this can result in false alarms which are stressful to parents. Providing this equipment will cut down on that risk.

This particular piece of equipment is also portable and compatible with that used in the regional specialist centres, so in the event of a child requiring transfer to one of the specialist hospitals outside the area, this monitor can be transported with them.

Each unit costs £1,495.
