Warrington General Hospital Apnoea Monitors (10-038)

2 x Apnoea Monitors

The Care of Next Infant (CONI) programme in Warrington is operated by the health team, and provides extra monitoring for any family who have previously lost a baby through cot death, or for any baby who is at increased risk of cot death. As well as providing life-saving early warning of any change to breathing patterns, the monitors also give parents peace of mind. This can be vital in reducing stress and anxiety which can lead to post-natal depression and trouble bonding with the new baby.

These monitors are used when a baby is asleep. They alert parents to any changes in a baby’s breathing, so they can intervene or if necessary alert the medical team. They allow a swift response to avoid serious oxygen deprivation or even death.
