5 x Hospital Grade Electric Breast Pumps
Salford Royal Hospital’s postnatal ward has 24 beds and priority is given to mothers and babies with health complications following birth. Electric pumps are needed to support breastfeeding mothers who may have breastfeeding difficulties in the early days, or who may be separated from their baby due to maternal illness or due to the baby needing neonatal care.
Health conditions of the mother or baby can interfere with natural breastfeeding. The expressed milk can then be saved until the baby is well enough, or used to tube feed the baby and ensure continued breastfeeding, which is particularly beneficial to sick or low birth weight babies.
Beneficiaries: Babies born in Salford
Total: £3,340
