We have been asked to provide four Apnoea Monitors for the Neo Natal Unit at North Manchester General Hospital in Crumpsall.

When babies are premature, they are at increased risk of sudden breathing difficulties, and the quicker that staff are alerted to a problem, the easier it is to deal with before lack of oxygen causes long term damage.

Although equipment is currently available on the Neo Natal Unit to monitor breathing, this newer equipment is more accurate and cuts down on false alarms which are time consuming for staff and stressful for parents.

The respiration monitors are £375 each with a total cost of £1,500. We do not pay VAT on medical items.
