UPDATE: This project was completed in 2005.
These Paediatric Bags are an innovative development that allow emergency staff to carry in one convenient bag an extensive range of specific paediatric equipment and supplies in an easy to use arrangement. The bag incorporates colour coded interior bags to reflect certain age ranges of child and also child friendly items such as paediatric diagnostic kit, illustrated plasters and dressings.
By providing one of these bags for each of the 150 vehicles in the Greater Manchester fleet, we would be ensuring that children can receive the best possible care immediately as the paramedic arrives on the scene.
The Ambulance Service requires 150 of these bags to equip every ambulance in the fleet. We have negotiated an overall cost of £265.00 for each bag, and as a charity we do not pay VAT on medical items. Therefore there is a total project cost of £39,750.00.
Greater Manchester Ambulance Service will continue to fund and replace all consumables as they are used.
