Macclesfield Maternity Department kitted out thanks to Shoosmiths Solicitors
Manchester based Solicitors, Shoosmiths and MedEquip4Kids have helped fund a vital piece of equipment for the Maternity Department at Macclesfield District General Hospital.
Shoosmiths Solicitors have raised over £2,327.80, to help buy a Dinamap machine that can accurately monitor all of a patient’s vital signs such as blood pressure, body temperature, pulse rate and oxygen levels, through one system.
The money was raised through a number of staff fundraising initiatives at Shoosmiths Solicitors, which included dress down Fridays, participation in the BUPA 10k Manchester run, cake sales, and sponsored events.
Lynda Moorcroft, said: “The Dinamap machine will enable us to accurately monitor our patients' vital signs non-invasively. We do rely on donations to buy pieces of equipment that enhance the care that we can provide for our patients, their babies and their families and on behalf of the unit, we would like to thank Shoosmiths Solicitors and MedEquip4Kids for their hard-earned fundraising efforts.”
Ghazala Baig, Chief Executive of MedEquip4Kids said: “We’d like to thank the staff of Shoosmiths Solicitors for their support. It’s great to see the equipment in use and making such a difference to the care of babies in Macclesfield.”
Helen Porter from Shoosmiths Solicitors said: ‘”We are delighted to have had the opportunity to be involved in such a worthwhile cause within the local community. As an office we had a lot of fun raising the money by participating in a variety of activities. The presentation of the Dinamap machine provided a great way for us to see how the money collected has been spent and to raise awareness of MedEquip4Kids amongst our staff.”
