Colleagues from the Smith Group Ltd have bid bon voyage to Bovis adventurers, Matt McCarrick and Scott Delaney, as they embarked on the 2010 Mongol Rally.

Matt and Scott are spending the next three weeks driving an ambulance from the UK to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. Once there, they will be donating the ambulance to the Mongolian health service. Read more about their challenge.

Matt and Scott are aiming to raise up to £20,000 for MedEquip4Kids in sponsorship for the challenge, and one of their biggest sponsors is Smith Group Ltd, based in Kirkham.

To celebrate the start of the 10,000 miles adventure, Matt and Scott were invited to Kirkham for a farewell buffet and given the opportunity to do a Q&A session with Smith Group Ltd employees.

Joining them was MedEquip4Kids' fundraiser, Lindsay Southall. She said: "It was a great idea to invite us to speak with Smith Group employees as it gives them a better idea of what Matt and Scott are undertaking, and also what MedEquip4Kids will be using their sponsorship money for."
