The Co-operative Group

The largest single donation to MedEquip4Kids in its 25-year history was made by The Co-operative Group.

The Manchester-based group donated a staggering £75,000 to the charity in September 2008 during the annual Co-operative Retail Trading Group's Charity Supplier Awards Dinner.

Almost £500,000 was donated to charities during the night of glitz and glamour after each Co-operative society selected a charity for 2008. The Co-operative Group chose MedEquip4Kids to be its beneficiary and the £75,000 was presented to MedEquip4Kids' Director Mike Hughson by Olympic swimmer and sports commentator, Sharron Davies MBE.

In total, The Co-operative Group donated more than £97,000 to MedEquip4Kids after employees from The Co-operative Group's Charitable Trust raised an additional £22,000 for MedEquip4Kids supporting a variety of fundraising events to raise as much money as possible.
